Overview — 001

Safe, comfortable wisdom tooth removal with careful planning.

Being the last teeth to come through, wisdom teeth frequently find there simply isn't enough space left for them to emerge properly. That can bring pain, swelling, recurring infection, harm to the tooth next door, or a spot that's just impossible to keep clean. Once we've had a proper look, we'll tell you whether it's best to keep an eye on the tooth or take it out. A number of wisdom tooth cases benefit from further imaging first. Where a CT scan would help us understand exactly where the tooth sits in relation to nearby nerves and other structures, we provide it free of charge, so treatment can be planned as safely and precisely as possible.

  • Experienced clinicians
  • Free CT scan where clinically required
  • Modern surgical techniques
  • Careful treatment planning
  • Sedation available for suitable adult patients
  • Clear aftercare advice to support recovery
The process — 002

How it goes, step by step.

4 stages
  1. 01
    30–45 minutes

    Consultation & Assessment

We examine the wisdom tooth, talk through your symptoms and decide together whether removal is the right course.

  2. 02
    Usually completed during your assessment

X-rays & CT Scan (If Required)

Any imaging needed to assess the tooth is taken at this stage, and if a CT scan turns out to be clinically necessary, it's provided free to help us plan safely.

  3. 03
    30–60 minutes

    Wisdom Tooth Removal

The wisdom tooth is removed carefully under local anaesthetic. For more complex cases, or nervous patients, IV sedation is also available for adults aged 18 and over.

  4. 04
    Recovery usually takes several days

    Recovery & Aftercare

You'll be given detailed aftercare instructions to reduce discomfort and limit the risk of complications while healing.

The things people actually ask.

Can't see your question? Message us on WhatsApp — we'll reply the same day.

  • No — plenty of wisdom teeth stay healthy and cause no trouble at all. We only suggest removal where there's a clear clinical reason, such as pain, repeated infection, decay or damage to the neighbouring tooth.

  • Not everyone will. If your dentist feels a CT scan is needed to check the tooth's position or nearby nerves, one is provided free before treatment goes ahead.

  • Treatment itself is carried out under local anaesthetic, so pain shouldn't be an issue at the time. Some soreness afterwards is normal and usually manageable with the advice and medication we recommend.

  • Yes — IV conscious sedation is offered to suitable patients aged 18 and over to help you stay relaxed through treatment, charged separately from the extraction itself.

  • Most people are back to normal within a few days, though more complex extractions can take a little longer. Detailed aftercare advice is given to support the quickest possible healing.

  • Stick to soft foods for the first few days and steer clear of very hot food, alcohol and smoking. You'll get full aftercare instructions before leaving the practice.
